What an amazing week we have had. We are so blessed with our school grounds, and the children have been taking their learning outside whenever possible.
Using our outdoors is something we continue to improve. There are two aspects of learning outdoors.
- To develop ecological awareness
- To develop skills and knowledge through activities that cannot be done inside. A great example of this was year 3 and 4 converting money into meters, and accurately drawing these lengths on the yard.
We have also had our annual “core visit” this week, where the Local Authority, ERW and Welsh Government seek to quality assure our provision for learning. This year we also had senior staff from two of our cluster schools to be part of this “Peer Review”. As always our children were amazing, and we have clear targets to improve our school next year.
The team were particularly impressed with the workshop styles within the learning, and commented positively upon the high levels of engagement and independence.
We have had no new questions raised regarding the new structure next year, and are pleased to be able to share the final staffing structure with you very soon. You have may have seen on the news that some schools across Wales are shortening the school day. We will NOT be doing this!
Have a wonderful half term everyone, from #Teamllanrhidian
