Dear Parents and Carers,

Great News!!

Our Attendance now stands at 92.5% (slightly up again from last week)

Swansea Target 95%

Llanrhidian Target 96%

We are very grateful for the donation of new chairs for our Caffi Cynefin. A huge thank you to those at Joe's Ice Cream Parlour, they are already being put to very good use in both our caffi and in our learning space.  Also a big thanks to those pupils who cleaned them all up ready for use!  Fantastic effort!

Having the support of local business really does make a huge difference to our learners.  Thank you to Oldwalls who are paying for an Easter treat for each pupil in the school.  We will give these out when we have our Easter egg hunt next week.  If you know of any local business who can help us with donations or equipment, please let us know.  Here are the main headlines:-

Easter Eggstravaganza Event - We are very excited to be holding our Easter Eggtravaganza  next Thursday and  are still praying for a dry day.  if you are able to help out with any Easter cakes, cookies, soft drinks etc, please send them in.

Here are the details:-

  • 1.30pm gates and caffi will open. There will also be take out drinks  sold from Siop Cierios.  (Please note only the front gate by bus bay will be opened for safeguarding reasons)
  • 2pm  - Choir singing in Marquee accompanied by drums.
  • 2.15 - Easter Bonnet Parade begins  - The route for this will be dependent on the weather, but don't worry you will  all get to see your child parade in their lovey bonnet.

After the parade the pupils will return to their pods.  If you would like to collect them at this point just stand in the usual pick up place and the teachers will see you.

This is an opportunity for parents and community to come together for a chat and a catch up, so please feel free to use our outside benches and enjoy the occasion.    Our Easter raffle will be drawn on Wednesday 29th March.

Planting Day Tuesday April 18th We will be holding our annual planting day. We would be grateful if you could donate any plants, pots or compost ready for this fun event.   We take so much pride inn our grounds during the summer term, and with your help we can make it look amazing after the horrid last few months.

Premises Plea - We are always looking to make our environment welcoming, interesting and stimulating.  So if you are having a spring clean and have any spare artificial plants, real house plants, interesting ornaments (not too delicate) then please could we have them.  It really makes such a difference to our working spaces.  We are also still in need of good quality board games, packs of cards and puzzles for wet play times.

Mr G's Online safety Tip of the week This week's tip is - Keep yourself in the know! Welsh government have provided an exhaustive list of guides for parents and carers with key information about the most popular social media and gaming apps children and young people are using today.

The guides include a detailed overview of the app, outlining the age rating and key terminology. They also highlight the risks each app poses to young people and give detailed instructions on how to enable parental controls and safety settings.
