First and foremost, we would like to express our gratitude for your unwavering support and enthusiasm during our recent sports day. It was truly a spectacular event, surpassed only by the wonderful weather that graced us on the day. Laughter and fun filled the air as our pupils engaged in various activities, and I must extend a huge thank you to Gower Dough for their delicious pizzas and provision of the much-needed portaloos. Special praise goes to our talented pupils who delivered a beautiful performance during the opening ceremony – we are immensely proud of each and every one of them.

As we approach the end of the academic year, preparations for September are well underway. We are excited to share some upcoming changes to our staff line up:

Pod Pili Pala and Pod Pengwins: These pods will be merging, maintaining our dedicated team of Mrs Marchant, Miss Walters, Mrs Blackmore, Mrs Rees, and Miss Harris. I am delighted to announce that Miss Jones will also be joining the team in the mornings.

Pod Pysgodyn: Mr Goremano, Mr DeKerkhove (replacing Mrs Chafey), and Mrs Parry will be the dedicated staff for this pod.

Pod Pry Cop: Mrs Archard, Mr Dowsett, and Mr Lisk, who is embarking on his salaried PGCE journey, will form the staff team for this pod.

In the upcoming year, we are placing a strong emphasis on reading interventions, with Miss Jones leading these sessions in the afternoons.

Mrs Gosney will be taking on the role of Office Manager and Family Engagement Officer, succeeding the exceptional Mrs Whitehead and Mrs Froom. Our safeguarding officers for the school will be Mrs Caswell, Mrs Archard, Mrs Marchant, and Mrs Gosney, ensuring the safety and well-being of all our pupils.

As we approach the end of term, please stay updated by regularly checking your emails and the "dates at a glance" section in our blog for important information and upcoming events.

Thank you once again for your continued support and involvement in our school community.

What's the buzz from the pupils this week? "Cwestiwn yr Wythnos!" We ask pupils a weekly question in order to feed into our school improvement. Parents and carers can have a say by clicking here"What did you enjoy most about Sport's Day?"

Pod Pengwin: "It was really brilliant and it was lovely. I really enjoyed the singing because everybody had a beautiful voice and I have a good talent. Did you see I won lots of stickers?"

Pod Pysgodyn: "Well I enjoyed that everybody had fun on Sport's Day - well everybody had loads of fun races. They were really excited!! My favourite race was the egg and spoon race because everybody kept losing their eggs and they were cracking and it was literally hilarious."

Pod PryCop: " I enjoyed getting to do lots of different things like playing on the inflatable games and having lots of lovely drinks. My favourite race was the sprint because I almost didn't come last!"

Mr G's Internet Safety Tip of the Week- New WhatsApp “Secret Codes” Should Be a Safety Concern for Parents.

The privacy enhancements in WhatsApp may benefit many users, but they pose potential risks for younger children and teens. Introducing Secret Codes to hide locked chats could make it difficult for parents to monitor their children's conversations and ensure their safety on the platform. Parents have relied on being able to quickly review their children's chat lists to identify any potentially harmful or inappropriate conversations. Implementing Secret Codes may significantly diminish parents' visibility into their child's WhatsApp interactions. Although WhatsApp allows users to hide or display locked chats in the main chat list, this additional layer of secrecy may raise concerns about children engaging in private conversations that parents are unaware of. For more information please click here
