Our PEST Work 2019-2020
What our final monitoring told us about this year's School Development Plan (SDP) targets.....
Target 1 - Improve RE: The pupils really like the Big Questions that help our critical thinking skills. HABER is also helping pupils to evaluate what they read, hear and see. All teachers are planning for RE in their IQ time now too so our pupils are learning about different beliefs and sharing their thoughts and ideas.
Target 2 - Improve Welsh: Weekly assemblies are going really well, and the pupils love them. Teachers are planning more Welsh. But we still have to improve our writing.
Target 3 - Improve Writing: The children are being given more time to improve their writing, and books are looking much better. Handwriting is improving in all Pods.
Target 4 - Improve our Learning Environment: The teachers visited another school for ideas. Since then, displays across the school have improved and they have put out resources for us to have more choice in what we use. There is still a lot we can improve, but we need the money to be able to do that.
Target 5 - Improve Standards in English, Welsh and Maths: Books are definitely looking more creative and chunky lessons are giving the pupils more time to get their teeth into a topic.
