What a Week! ๐ŸŒฆ๏ธโœจ

Despite everything Mother Nature decided to throw our way this week, we’ve had an incredibly successful few days here at school—and we couldn’t be prouder of the children! They have shown fantastic resilience, enthusiasm, and positivity every step of the way. Whether adapting to new plans, supporting one another, or simply giving their best in every activity, they have truly been amazing. There’s been lots of laughter, plenty of learning, and so many moments that reminded us just how brilliant our children are.

Caffi Cynefin Superstars! โ˜•๐Ÿฅ“โœจ

A huge thank you to our brilliant Pysgodyn children, who stepped up this week to become part of the Caffi Cynefin team—and what a job they did!

From the moment the café got busy, they were ready for the challenge. Taking orders with confidence, delivering smiles (and plenty of delicious bacon rolls!), and keeping everything running smoothly—these children were absolute stars.

Mrs Blackmore (also known this week as Gordon Ramsay ๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐Ÿณ๐Ÿ”ฅ) couldn’t praise them highly enough. Their teamwork, enthusiasm, and positive attitude made a big impression on everyone who visited the café.

It was fantastic to see them taking on real responsibility and doing it with such pride—and a good sense of humour too!

Da iawn, Pysgodyn—you were amazing! ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒŸ

Pry Cop Residential – What an Adventure! ๐Ÿ•๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Our recent Pry Cop residential was a huge success, packed full of excitement, new experiences, and plenty of smiles! The children threw themselves into every activity, from aiming for the target in archery ๐ŸŽฏ to getting creative with den building, climbing trees, and even cooking bread over a fire (which was a big hit!).

The trip was full of laughter, teamwork, and unforgettable memories that we’re sure the children will be talking about for a long time to come.

A huge thank you goes to all the staff who supported the children throughout the trip and a huge well done to everyone—you’ve made the week one to remember! ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒˆ

Pod Pengwin Updates

We will be changing how we send home reading books over the next few weeks.

Each child will have:

  • A reading book and diary that remain in school. These will be used for reading sessions with the class teachers.
  • A separate reading book and diary to take home. This is for children to read with you, and they can bring it in to be changed once they have finished it.

All children are taught to read every day through Read Write Inc. (RWI) and other literacy activities. The Oxford Reading Tree books are provided to help them practise the decoding and blending skills they have learned.

Pupil Question: What is your favourite Ice lolly or Ice Cream?

Pod Pengwin: I like the stripey one, it has red, green and yellow stripes. My mum gets me one from Crofty Shops.

Pod Pysgodyn: 'GG's' Bubblegum flavour is immense, and I like going there on a Friday after school.

Pod Pry Cop: A Magnum is great, but is expensive to buy in the campsite shop. You can get them cheaper in Tesco's

Mrs Marchant: Well, I have always liked a Mini-Milk, and it comes in a lot of flavours, but milk was my favourite.

Mrs Caswell: I love a Nobbly Bobbly. I'm not sure if they make them any more.

Support for Families – North Gower Food Hub

We would like to make you aware of the North Gower Food Hub, which offers support to families in our community. We understand that school holiday periods can place additional financial pressure on some households, particularly those with children who receive free school meals.

The North Gower Food Hub provides food support for up to 12 weeks to families across most of the Gower area (excluding Gorseinon, Gowerton, Killay, West Cross and Mumbles, which have their own services). No vouchers or referrals from social services are required to access this support.

Deliveries are made every Friday morning directly to families’ homes. During term time, deliveries can also be arranged to school if this is preferred and agreed. Please note that the service is not a drop-in; it operates confidentially, and deliveries are made discreetly without identifiable packaging or vehicles.

For further information, please visit:

If you feel this service may be of benefit to your family, we encourage you to explore the information provided or get in touch with the Food Hub directly.
