Annwyl Parents and Carers,

 

After the excitement and energy of Sports Day, we’re keeping the momentum going with something extra special… Next week, we’ll be announcing the Sports Day results during our whole-school raffle assembly (a huge thank you for all the donations)—and that’s just the beginning! From there, we’ll be raising the profile of house points across the school and building on them throughout the year. Expect more celebrations, more teamwork, and more chances for every child to shine as we bring our house system to life in new and exciting ways!

 

Our school PESTS (Pupil, Evaluation, School Team) have been working hard all year to help drive and evaluate out targets.  Independently they have created these evaluation videos. (Click Here)  We are so proud of them!  Thank you Pests for all your hard work, and we promise to keep up the good work next year.  

 

We’re excited to share the key priorities for school improvement for 2025-2026, which were approved by our governors this week. These targets will help us continue to grow and support every child’s learning journey:

 

• Number Skills: A consistent approach to teaching number skills to strengthen understanding of place value and accurate calculation.
• Independent Learning: Enhancing our learning environments to build pupils’ independence across the school.
• Positive Behaviour: Embedding our “Ready, Respectful, Safe” approach to ensure a calm and respectful school culture.
• Dysgu Dawel: Expanding 'Quiet Learning' to better support the diverse needs of all learners.
• Tracking Progress: Developing our tracking systems to meet the needs of each pod and individual pupils more effectively.

What's the buzz from the pupils this week? How do you think we could make our school even better?

Pod Pengwin: I think that we should do even more work! Lots more reading and more outside time for fresh air!

Pod Pysgodyn: I think we should do more maths - maths is my favourite things! I just love column addition!  

Pod Pry Cop: I think we should use our local beaches more. My favourite beach is Llangennith because the waves are really good there!
