Attendance Concern – We Need Your Support
Our school attendance is slipping further from our target. Every day in school counts, and regular attendance helps children thrive.
Please support your child’s attendance by avoiding unnecessary absences and arriving on time. If you’re facing challenges, we’re here to help.
Thank you for working with us.

Annwyl Rhieni a Gofalwyr,
A huge da iawn to Pod Pysgodyn this week for hosting our first ‘Bwyty Mish Mash’ of the year! It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the fruits of their hard work by sitting down together to share a meal. This was a fantastic learning experience for our children, who planned, cooked, and served a three-course menu. Our Llanrhidian World of Work (#LlanWoW) is something we’re incredibly proud of, as we know it helps prepare pupils for life beyond the school gates. A big diolch yn fawr to all the staff who made this such a valuable opportunity.
We also celebrated Positive Noticing Day, where pupils paired up to write positive notes for each other. The buzz around the school was phenomenal, and the pride on their faces was magical. We’ve been encouraging pupils to share this strategy at home—so why not give it a go as a family? Try writing a positive note for someone at home and see the smiles it brings! Keep an eye out for their tag and ask them about it.
We’re excited to explore the possibility of offering wrap-around care for our nursery pupils. We’d love to understand the level of interest before moving forward.
If this is something you would find helpful, please let us know by completing this short form.
Thank you for your continued support and feedback – it really helps us shape the best provision for our children.

📝We are on our journey to develop as an anti-racist school, where every child and family feels seen, valued, and respected. As part of this journey, we want to celebrate the diversity within our school community and beyond. That ensures that all cultures and backgrounds are recognised and appreciated. To help us do this, we would love to learn more about you and your family’s heritage, traditions, and cultural background. Please take a few moments to complete the form below and share anything you feel comfortable telling us about your family’s culture, heritage, or traditions. Whether it’s a language spoken at home or a special celebration. Thank you for helping us make Llanrhidian Primary a truly inclusive and welcoming place for all.

Pysgodyn: I loved that we had to write nice things about each other. Mine said I am hilarious and to keep being me!

We’d like to share information from the North Gower Food Hub, which supports families across most of the Gower area. Many families, especially those with children receiving free school meals, can face financial challenges during winter and over the Christmas period.
The Food Hub can provide food support for up to 12 weeks. No voucher or referral from social services is required. Please note this service covers most of Gower, except Gorseinon, Gowerton, Killay, West Cross, and Mumbles (these areas have their own food banks).
They also refer families to the Sharing Table Christmas Hamper Scheme (cut-off date: end of November):
