Our attendance has dropped 📉 – and every school day matters!
Children learn more, make friends, and build confidence when they’re here. 🌟
How can we improve?
✅ Aim for 95% attendance or higher
✅ Only keep children home if they’re really unwell
✅ Plan appointments outside school hours
✅ Try your best to book holidays during school breaks ✈️
Every day counts – let’s make next term our best yet! 💪🎯
Annwyl Rhieni a Gofalwyr,
As we wrap up 2025, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you for your continued support in making Llanrhidian a thriving learning community. From our exciting launch day to percussion parties, choir performances, and the joy of our Christmas shows, this year has been full of memorable moments. Our pupils have truly shone, and the progress they’ve made has been inspiring.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to begin 2026 with our Spring Term Launch Day on Tuesday, 6th January, where we’ll unveil our new topic for the term and welcome pupils back to school. It promises to be another year of curiosity, creativity, and achievement.
Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year. We look forward to welcoming you back in January!

Some parents may have received an attendance letter this week, and we’d like to explain why these letters are sent and why attendance matters so much. ✅
At Llanrhidian Primary School, we believe that regular attendance is essential for every child’s learning, progress, and wellbeing. 🌟 Being in school every day helps children build strong foundations for their education and ensures they don’t miss out on valuable experiences. 📚
As part of our commitment to supporting families, we monitor attendance carefully each term. When a child’s attendance falls below 90%, we are required to send a letter home to parents. ✉️ These letters are a mandatory part of our attendance procedures and are designed to keep families informed and engaged in improving attendance. 🤝
Swansea Local Authority sets high expectations for attendance across all schools in the area. 📈 This is because consistent attendance is proven to have a positive impact on achievement and confidence. 💪 We understand that sometimes there are genuine reasons for absence, and we are here to help. ❤️ If you have any concerns or need support to improve your child’s attendance, please contact us—we’re happy to work together to find solutions. 🗣️
It’s not just about addressing low attendance—we also love to celebrate great attendance! 🏆
Bookings for EBCC and Clwb Ceirios are live on iPay, and all places must be booked and paid for by 6th January for the full half-term ✅.
If you’re paying with childcare vouchers, please complete the booking form (available on our website 👉 Book Here and email the office with your reference number, amount paid, and date of payment 💳.
We’re also accepting toast donations 🍞 cash can be sent to the office or paid via iPay 💻.
Every child is offered a slice of toast during our daily Relax and Refuel session. This simple snack helps keep energy levels steady, supports concentration, and ensures children are ready to learn throughout the day.
Thank you for your continued support and for helping us make Spring 1 amazing! 🌟
🌟 Be Part of Our Journey! 🌟
We will be joined by Charlotte Clarke from Navigate Education on 19th January at X5 pm online. Parents and carers will be able to join the session by joining this link: Join Here
Charlotte has worked closely with our school to help us start our journey of adapting our approach to behaviour over the past term. She also works with many other schools in Swansea and across the UK and is helping us become a more inclusive and safe place for everyone to work and learn in.
In this session, Charlotte will share the benefits that being an emotionally safe school can bring to all learners. She will tackle the changes we are making to our use of consequences and provide clarity around how we hold boundaries without compromising belonging. She will explain how we are developing a consistent language of "Ready, Respectful, Safe" across the school.
You are welcome to bring questions and feedback to the session which will be interactive and confidential for parents.

Pod Pengwin: Food and the party! Pizza because some of the pizzas have pineapple on! I have a best friend, and they want to play with me.
Pod Pysgodyn: Choir because I love singing and we have done lots of shows. My favourite song is Rocking Around The Christmas Tree!
