Journey with Mr Colourful and Anubis to Chichen Itza.

Mr Clark loves all sports involving ball skills and has learnt about the ancient game called Ulamo. He is going to teach you how to play it. What are the rules? 

2. LO To respond appropriately to position-based terminology and directional movement.

Escape from Chichen Itza – creating a tunnel and rolling logs system can you use your ducking and jumping skills to not be crushed by the rolling pipes. 

 

3.LO: To identify different sources of light. (PS1)To know that light cannot travel around objects and makes a shadow(PS2).

 

In Chichen Itza the Maya created the temple of Kukulacan to produce shadows on special days. How are Shadows made? Why are they different sizes? Can you investigate?

4.LO:To use talk to support the writing process;To communicate their ideas and thoughts with others, planning the process;To discuss and create a character and setting with support.#LlanLit

There are lots of tales that the Maya people used to tell their children and grandchildren. These tales were all about magical beings, and the earth's wonders. Can you plan a story with a group of friends and make the shadow puppets to retell this story to your friends?

5.LO:To imitate art techniques with a range of resources e.g., clay, printing etc. #llanExp

Mrs Rees is our arts guru in Pod Pengwin and loves nothing more than getting messy. She would like to teach you a technique called Papier Mache and would like you to help her create a model of Chichen Itza.  

6. LO:To use a growing range of art resources to create drawings, paintings, and models which represent ideas, feelings and memories, talking simply about what their art means to them #LlanExp

After watching a movie about Maya culture, Miss Blackmore has decided that she would like a celebration to worship the sun. She would like you to design and make your own headdress ready for our showcase.

 

7.LO:To start to know that food and drink choices can keep them healthy and unhealthy#LlanHealth.

 Mr Colourful has enjoyed eating all the food from around the world but now he cannot fit into his trousers. Mrs Mabbett has an idea!! Can we design and make a healthy tortilla for Mr Colourful. What will you put in your tortila. Lets make it. What will it taste like?

8. LO;To identify safe and unsafe actions and begins to understand why they may be safe and unsafe.#LlanHealth Mrs Parry and Miss Blackmore are embracing all aspects of Mexican life and would like to make some tortillas on the fire pit.
