Annwyl Parents and Carers,

 

We are very excited to announce that Mr James Morgan will be joining our permanent team in September. Mr Morgan is a very experienced teacher who is excited to bring his skills and ideas to Llanrhidian. I'm sure you will join us in giving him a big Llanrhidian welcome.  

 

It's that time of year again when we will be selling our Summer Raffle Tickets! Look out for the tickets in your child's bag, Mrs Gosney will be sending them home today. As ever, thank you for your continued support. We will be having a non - school uniform and bring a raffle prize day to support this on Friday 4th July.  We would like to continue to use all fund raising efforts to provide those additional fun resourses for our pupils to build the skills of resilience, collaboration and problem solving.  We are also looking to further develop our learning spaces to ensure pupils have the space to learn in a flexible way.  In particular we are finding our traditional school desks are too big, taking up valuable learning space.  So watch this space as we keep you posted with our developments.

What's the buzz from the pupils this week? What is your favourite thing to do on the school field?

Pod Pengwin: I like doing handstands, cartwheels, rounds off's, being upside down... it's fun!

Pod Pysgodyn: I like playing shark attack, if you get bitten - you turn into a shark! I like being a great white.

Pod Pry Cop: I like playing stuck in the mud! I love playing cricket with my friends, we all have fun and we make sure everyone has a turn. We also set it all up ourselves and we don't argue about it! 

 

Mr G's Online Safety Tip: Help your child understand the risks of online gaming.  The Ofcom survey found that around 9 in 10 children aged 3-17 play games online. 25% of children aged 8-17 play games online with strangers, and 22% chat with unknown individuals while gaming. Parents should understand and support their child's interest in online gaming while also helping them avoid negative aspects such as playing games with inappropriate age ratings or references to gambling.
