Annwyl Rhieni a Gofalwyr,
As we bring another full and fulfilling week to a close, it’s a pleasure to pause and celebrate the enthusiasm, collaboration, and creativity that have been shining throughout our school.
Last Friday was truly a highlight. With glorious sunshine on our side, our pupils rolled up their sleeves and set to work planting their prizeโwinning garden patches. These onceโbare spaces are now brimming with promise, ready to undergo an exciting transformation in the weeks and months ahead.
What hidden horticultural treasures will soon push through the soil? What bold ideas and imaginative designs have our pods brought to life? And, perhaps most exciting of all, how will our very own Gardeners’ World judge respond when judging day arrives?
We can’t wait to watch these gardens flourish — not just with plants, but with creativity, teamwork, perseverance, and pride. Moments like these remind us how powerful learning can be when it’s handsโon, meaningful, and rooted in shared experience. Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a joyful and memorable end to the week. We look forward to sharing the next stages of this growing journey with you.

We wanted to share information about a brilliant local service that may help families during school holiday periods. The North Gower Food Hub offers up to 12 weeks of food support for households across most of the Gower. There’s no need for vouchers or social services referrals, and the team works with complete confidentiality.
Support is delivered directly to your home every Friday, or to school during term time if that’s easier for you.
If you feel your family could benefit from a little extra help, you can get in touch with the Food Hub here:
Schools can also make a referral on your behalf (with your permission).
A small reminder: this service covers most of the Gower, except Gorseinon, Gowerton, Killay, West Cross and Mumbles, as these areas have their own food banks.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out—support is there if you need it.
The closing date to apply for the Schools Essentials Grant for the 2025–2026 academic year is 31 May 2026.
Families whose children are eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) may be able to receive a grant to help with the cost of school uniform, shoes, PE kit, bags, stationery, IT equipment and more.
๐ Important: Free School Meals eligibility is different from Universal Free School Meals in primary schools. Even if your child already receives a free lunch, you still need to apply.
Once FSM eligibility is confirmed, families can apply for the grant if their child is in Reception to Year 11, is eligible for FSM, is a Child Looked After, or is classed as No Recourse to Public Funds.
