Let's hope the sun keeps shining as the whole school have been racing, jumping and skipping to the finish line, practising for Sports Day next Wednesday. A reminder that our gates will open at 1:45 and we invite you to bring a blanket and a picnic to enjoy our beautiful grounds. Our opening ceremony will start at 2pm. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our whole school community for supporting us in raising funds for our pupil kitchen. On Wednesday, the year 6's hosted our very first 'Bwyty Mish Mash', where their families enjoyed a three course meal that was planned for, prepared and served by our pupils. These year 6's started in Caffi Cynefin in year 4 and to watch their confidence and skills flourish over the years has been an absolute privilege. Diolch yn fawr iawn - we will be sure to let you know about the next Bwyty Mish Mash! A huge thank you to Mrs Blackmore who supported the pupils in making this a huge success! 

 

Starting in September, I will be working with the Local Authority as a School Improvement Adviser for two days each week. During this time, Mrs Archard will take on the role of acting head teacher every Thursday and Friday.  Mrs Mabbett will be teaching the pod on those two days, which is just one day more than our current arrangement. I hope you share my enthusiasm for this excellent opportunity, as it promises to bring substantial benefits to both the school and our pupils through the additional funding generated by this secondment.

What's the buzz from the pupils this week? What have you enjoyed this week?

Pod Pengwin: I love helping my teachers fix the outdoor space, I wanted to bring my hammer and screw driver but Nan said no!

Pod Pysgodyn: I loved our school trip!! We went to the castle it was old and cool! They told loads of old stories and I found a black and red bug!

Pod Pry Cop: I have enjoyed Bwyty Mish Mash - we served all our families and they really enjoyed. We worked together to be the best we can be. 

 

 Mr G's Online Safety Tip: Help your child understand the risks of online gaming.  The Ofcom survey found that around 9 in 10 children aged 3-17 play games online. 25% of children aged 8-17 play games online with strangers, and 22% chat with unknown individuals while gaming. Parents should understand and support their child's interest in online gaming while also helping them avoid negative aspects such as playing games with inappropriate age ratings or references to gambling.
