Our whole School Attendance is 94.8%

    Swansea targets 95%

    Llanrhidian Target 96%

Last Weeks Winners – Dosbarth Derbyn with 98.3%

    Annwyl Parents and Carers,

Wow! Last night we hosted over 160 teachers here at Llanrhidian who came to look at how we foster independence through a whole school curriculum. We discussed all things problem-solving, critical thinking and self-management, which we believe are crucial skills that will help our learners thrive beyond school life. Throughout the event, we showcased our fantastic Caffi Cynefin which really was a true celebration of how truly independent our learners become.  A HUGE thank you to pupils (past and present), parent volunteers and governors who attended in support last night!

We’re excited to remind you that our Marchnad Harvest will take place next week on Thursday 16th October. Each pod has been busy creating wonderful items to sell, and we can’t wait to share their hard work with you. Please note, this is a cash only event. We will also have our Caffi running in the afternoon as well as the morning, so be sure to visit us!

    A few key points:

🕜 Gates will open at 1:30pm.
If you would like to collect your child to attend the market, please go to their usual pod pick-up point. Teachers will dismiss children safely from there.

If you're unable to attend, no problem—just let your pod staff know, and we’ll make sure your child has the opportunity to visit the market during the afternoon.

    🌾 Harvest Donation Station
As always, we will be running our Harvest Donation Station, with all contributions going to Matthew’s House.
Please note that the final date for donations is Thursday 16th October.

We look forward to seeing you there and celebrating the creativity and generosity of our school community!

Pod Parents’ Evening – Booking Forms Now Available

You should now have received your booking form for our upcoming Pod Parents’ Evenings, taking place on Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th November. (Pili Pala Parents Evening will be Wednesday 5th November). To make a booking, you will also have received an email requiring you to create a login. Please note, the office does not have access to your login or password.

To help the evenings run smoothly, please note that you may be seen by either of your child’s pod teachers during your appointment.

Thank you for your continued support—we look forward to meeting with you to celebrate your child’s progress.

    Have a wonderful weekend,

    #TeamLlanrhidian

Pupil Question: What does 'independence' mean to you? How do you feel when you learn something new?

Pengwin: I feel a bit good in Welsh because I want to learn Welsh all the time. I like learning Welsh.

Pysgodyn: Independence is doing things without being asked and getting your things without a teacher. I love learning new things, it makes me feel excited and proud.

Pry Cop: Independence means trying your best on your own but you can still be social and work with others. When I learn something new, it feels quite nice because it gives you a taste of what other things are like.

🚪 Let’s Start the Day Right – Arrive on Time!

Mornings at Llanrhidian Primary are full of energy, smiles, and learning and being on time helps every child make the most of it!

    To make things easier:

    • Drop-off starts at 8:40am
    • We have a Drop-Off Zone for Reception and up
    • Gates close promptly at 8:55am

Arriving after 8:55 means staff are pulled away from their roles to manage late entry and that’s time better spent supporting your children in class.

Let’s work together to give every child a calm, confident start to their day. Thanks for your support!
