Annwyl Rhieni a Gofalwyr,
Wow! What an incredible start to the festive season! We are bursting with pride after watching our amazing Pili-Pala, Pengwin, and Pysgodyn pupils shine in their performance of ‘Hey Ewe!’. Every single child was fantastic, and it was such a joy to see the pride on their faces—and on yours too! We hope that these special moments will create memories that will last a lifetime.
A huge thank you to all our families for your support with learning lines, singing songs at home, and creating those wonderful costumes. Your efforts truly make these shows so special! A special mention to our dedicated staff who worked incredibly hard to put on such a fantastic show!
Next up, it’s the turn of our talented Pry Cop pupils with their performances of ‘Mary Poppins’ next week! Keep an eye out for more details later today about what time they need to be back in school for the evening shows and collection times.

At Llanrhidian Primary School, we believe that every child is unique ๐, with their own talents, interests, and ways of learning. Some children shine in sports โฝ, others in art ๐จ, music ๐ต, problem-solving ๐งฉ, or kindness ๐. These differences make our school community vibrant and full of possibilities.
Empathy plays a key role in helping us appreciate these differences ๐ค. When we take time to understand how others feel and what they find challenging or exciting, we create an environment where everyone feels valued ๐ฑ. Empathy teaches us that success doesn’t look the same for everyone—and that’s okay โ . It’s about recognising effort, celebrating progress ๐, and supporting each other along the way.
As teachers, parents, and friends, let’s encourage our children to notice and respect each other’s strengths ๐. A child who loves reading ๐ can inspire others with stories. A child who enjoys building ๐๏ธ can teach teamwork through creative projects. When we work together and show empathy, we help every child feel proud of who they are ๐.
Let’s keep reminding our children:
Your strengths make you special, and your kindness makes our community stronger ๐ช๐.
We’d like to share information from the North Gower Food Hub, which supports families across most of the Gower area. Many families, especially those with children receiving free school meals, can face financial challenges during winter and over the Christmas period.
The Food Hub can provide food support for up to 12 weeks. No voucher or referral from social services is required. Please note this service covers most of Gower, except Gorseinon, Gowerton, Killay, West Cross, and Mumbles (these areas have their own food banks).
They also refer families to the Sharing Table Christmas Hamper Scheme (cut-off date: end of November):
