Our attendance has dipped a little lower again this week, mostly due to those pesky winter bugs π€. We know it’s that time of year when colds and sniffles spread quickly, so we’re sending lots of get well soon wishes to all our poorly children! π
As we head towards the New Year π, let’s look forward to healthier days and work together to boost attendance again. β Every day in school matters – for learning, friendships, and fun! π«β¨
Annwyl Rhieni a Gofalwyr,
…and that’s a wrap on the Christmas shows! The children of Pod Pry Cop absolutely dazzled on stage this week, and we could not be prouder of them. Their singing, dancing, acting, and most importantly their confidence have soared over the past couple of weeks. We know these are skills they will continue to use throughout life, well beyond the gates of Llanrhidian. A huge thank you to our staff and parents for making this an unforgettable show!
We also enjoyed a fabulous Christmas lunch yesterday, a huge diolch to our kitchen staff for creating such a delicious feast. During lunch, pupils shared their ‘Kindness Christmas Crackers.’ Every pupil made and received a bespoke cracker, complete with a positive note about them from their peers. This new Llanrhidian tradition not only spread kindness but also helped us cut down on single-use plastic, a win win! It was a joy to see their faces light up as they read their notes aloud.
We have one Christmas event left: our choir pupils will be singing in Llanrhidian Church at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, 17th December. This is a free event and does not require booking.
Finally, staff have noted the dates of the Pod Christmas Parties in the ‘Pod Update’ section below for pupils to enjoy as we finish the autumn term with some fun and festivities!
Have a fabulous weekend,
#TeamLlanrhidian

Dear Parents and Families,
As we reach the end of a fantastic autumn term at Llanrhidian Primary School, the Governing Body would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who makes our school such a special place.
First and foremost, thank you to our wonderful staff and pupils. Our children have shown enthusiasm, curiosity, and a real willingness to embrace every opportunity offered to them. This term has been filled with rich, memorable experiences that truly showcase what makes Llanrhidian unique. As part of their day-to-day learning, our pupils enjoy exceptional opportunities, from inspiring outdoor learning adventures in our exciting new provision, Y Goedwig, which offers meaningful, hands-on learning in school and hosts family woodland sessions for the wider community, to the creativity and teamwork involved in running their very own restaurant in Bwyty Mish Mash and the continued success of our community café, Caffi Cynefin. Together, these opportunities show that our pupils can access an outstanding range of experiences right here at school, with our staff working hard every day to ensure learning is vibrant and enriching.
Team Llanrhidian were also delighted to host a very busy Meithrin event, which beautifully showcased the excellent work that happens daily at Llanrhidian. Pod staff continue to ensure the best use of our school environment, where enriching experiences and the expertise of our staff continually support our pupils to grow into confident, independent learners who embrace every challenge with enthusiasm.
This independence and resilience has shone particularly brightly in this year’s Christmas concerts, Hey Ewe and Mary Poppins. The performances were a testament not only to the children’s hard work, but also to the fantastic learning and sense of community that thrives within our Pods. We are incredibly proud of every pupil who took to the stage with such confidence and joy, and equally proud of their learning, progress, and successes throughout this term.
We would also like to express our sincere thanks to parents, carers, and families for your continued support. Not only by joining us for community events such as the Monster Ball, Harvest Marchnad and Christmas Fayre, but by continually supporting the important day-to-day routines like our ‘drop off zone’ and safely parking during these events - your support helps keep our pupils and the wider community safe as well as ensuring our school can continue to offer these rich opportunities for our pupils. Your involvement truly strengthens the heart of our school.
As we head into the Christmas holidays, we wish you all a peaceful, joyful, and well-deserved break. Thank you once again for your continued support, and we look forward to an exciting new term ahead.
Nadolig Llawen a Blwyddyn Newydd Dda,
From all of us on the Governing Body.
