    LO: To estimate by rounding to the nearest 10 or 100. 
    LO: To estimate by rounding to the nearest 10, 100, 1000 or whole number.  
    LO:  To estimate by rounding to the nearest 100,000 or 1,000,000.

    Game 1:

    Rounding Cards

    • Split into twos

    • Deal 2, 3 or 4 cards each

    • Pupils round to the nearest 10,100 or 1000 and the biggest number wins.

    Game 2:

    Rounding Corners

    • Mark four corners of the playground as different rounding answers (e.g. 20, 30, 40, 50).

    • Teacher calls a number (e.g. 44).

    • Pupils run to the correct rounded answer corner (40).

    Game 3:

    Hot Seat Rounding

    • One pupil sits in the “hot seat”.

    • Teacher (or peers) call out a number.

    • Hot seat pupil has 5 seconds to round it correctly.

    • Can be team-based for extra competition.
