Mr. D and Mr. G are designing their own fairground game—**but they need your help! They want to create a Magnet Race, where players use magnets to pick up coins as quickly as possible. It sounds fun, but there's a problem…

How can they make sure the game is fair for everyone?

Everyday Uses of Magnets

Magnets are all around us, even if we don’t always notice them! Here are some common ways we use magnets in everyday life:

At Home

🧲 Fridge Magnets – Used to hold notes, pictures, and reminders on the fridge door.
🧲 Cabinet Doors – Many kitchen cabinets use small magnets to keep doors closed.
🧲 Vacuum Cleaners – Some vacuums use magnets in the motor to help them work.

In Technology & Gadgets

📱 Phones & Tablets – Speakers and microphones contain tiny magnets.
💳 Credit & Debit Cards – The black strip on the back stores information using magnetism.
🎧 Headphones & Speakers – Magnets help turn electric signals into sound.

In Transport

🚄 Maglev Trains – Some trains use powerful magnets to float above tracks and move super fast!
🚗 Car Motors & Locks – Magnets are used in electric car motors and some automatic locking systems.

In Health & Medicine

🏥 MRI Scanners – Powerful magnets help doctors take pictures of inside the body.
🦷 Braces & Dental Work – Some braces use small magnets to straighten teeth.

In Fun & Toys

🎣 Magnetic Fishing Games – Some kids’ games use magnets to “catch” fish or objects.
🧩 Building Toys – Toys like Magna-Tiles or magnetic construction sets use magnets to connect pieces.

Magnets are everywhere! From keeping your fridge door shut to helping doctors scan the body, they are an essential part of everyday life. 🚀

L.O To explore how magnets can stick to some materials and begin to sort objects based on whether they are magnetic or not.
L.O To identify and classify magnetic and non-magnetic materials by testing different objects.
L.O To understand that magnets can push or pull each other and that some materials are affected by magnetic fields (linking to forces).
