๐ŸŸ Pod Pysgodyn Presents: Captenau Gลตyr – Let’s Go Wild! ๐ŸŒฟ

Have you ever splashed in puddles, spotted bugs in the bushes, or heard the wind whoosh through the trees? This term in Pod Pysgodyn, we’re heading outside to explore the wild and wonderful world around us in our exciting topic: Captenau Gลตyr!

We’ll be brave explorers and team captains – climbing hills, cooking outdoors, building dens, and finding out all about the animals and plants that live in our local area. One of our biggest adventures will be taking on the Duke of Llanrhidian challenge… will you be ready?

We’ll also be diving into some fantastic books to help us learn and imagine, like:

๐Ÿ“˜ Mixed by Arree Chung
๐Ÿ“— Tree: Seasons Come, Seasons Go by Britta Teckentrup
๐Ÿ“• The Secret Sky Garden by Linda Sarah and Fiona Lumbers

These stories will help us understand nature, friendship, and how we can care for the world around us.

So grab your wellies, open your eyes wide, and get ready for a term full of exploring, imagining, creating, and getting a little muddy! Let’s go wild with Captenau Gลตyr!

๐ŸŒ Cynefin
Cynefin is a special Welsh word that means a place where you feel you truly belong. It can be your home, your school, your community – anywhere that makes you feel safe, happy and included. This term, we’ll be thinking about how we can make our own Caffi Cynefin a warm and welcoming place for everyone. We’ll learn about fairness, kindness and how we can take care of each other.

๐Ÿ“š Brilliant Books (Rip-Roaring Reads)
We love reading in Pod Pysgodyn! This term, we’ll enjoy books that help us explore nature, friendship and the world around us. Here are some of the brilliant stories we’ll be sharing together:

The Hike by Alison Farrell
The Secret Sky Garden by Linda Sarah and Fiona Lumbers
Tree: Seasons Come, Seasons Go by Patricia Hegarty and Britta Teckentrup
If you have a favourite story or poem linked to nature, the outdoors or belonging, we’d love to hear about it!

โ“ Big Questions
We’ll be asking Big Questions to help us think about the world and our place in it. These will link to Religion, Values and Ethics, and help us talk about what really matters – like being kind, making good choices, and understanding how others feel.

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Our Learning Journey
This diagram shows some of the exciting learning we have planned for this term. These ideas came from the children themselves during our launch day and EPIC planning (Everybody Planning In Class). As the topic grows and new ideas bloom, our learning might change a little – and that’s part of the adventure!

We plan through each Area of Learning and Experience, and we always try to link our learning across different subjects to make it even more meaningful and fun.
