Our Topic This Term Is... UNPLUGGED

Imagine a world with no screens, no buzzing phones, no electricity... just the crackle of fire and the rhythm of nature.

This term, we’re going unplugged! We’ll step back in time to explore life before technology—when humans made their very first discoveries, like how to make fire! Through dance, storytelling, and hands-on learning, we’ll celebrate the amazing things people could do without gadgets or Wi-Fi.

Get ready to move, create, and discover the wonders of being unplugged. It’s time to switch off... and tune in to the past!

Cynefin: Cynefin is a Welsh word that cannot be directly translated into English but means a place of multiple belongings. This term we are focusing on embedding our Llanrhidian World of Work and making our Caffi Cynefin even better... watch this space!!

Rip-Roaring Reads: We believe that developing a love of literature is the first step to becoming a competent reader.  Here are the books we will be enjoying with our pupils:

    • Firework Maker's Daughter

If you know of any other great books, stories or poems that will support our topic, please let us know.

Big Questions: Teachers will use Big Questions to explore Religion, Values and Ethics related to the topic.

The following slides is an example of some of the learning we are planning this term.  This is drawn from your child’s ideas from the launch day. As the topic unfolds and the children delve deeper, their ideas and interests may spark new, exciting changes, therefore some planning may change as we progress through the topic!

Please note that although we plan under each Area of Learning and Experience, we endeavour to make as many cross curricular links as possible.
