Cynefin: Cynefin is a Welsh word that cannot be directly translated into English but means a place of multiple belongings. This term we are focusing on making sure our Caffi Cynefin is a fair place for all to visit.
Rip-Roaring Reads: We believe that developing a love of literature is the first step to becoming a competent reader. Here are the books we will be enjoying with our pupils:
- Where Three Oceans Meet
If you know of any other great books, stories or poems that will support our topic, please let us know.
Big Questions: Teachers will use Big Questions to explore Religion, Values and Ethics related to the topic.
The following slides are an example of some of the learning we are planning this term. This is drawn from your child’s ideas from the launch day and their EPIC planning (Everybody Planning In Class). As the topic unfolds and the children delve deeper, their ideas and interests may spark new, exciting changes. Therefore, some planning may change as we progress through the topic!
Please note that although we plan under each Area of Learning and Experience, we endeavour to make as many cross curricular links as possible. As part of our commitment to creating an inclusive and respectful learning environment, staff are planning spotlights that encourage pupils to think critically about fairness, equality, and anti-racism. Through stories, discussions, and experiences, we will focus on developing empathy, understanding, and positive attitudes towards diversity.
