    Choice and Challenge Pupil Voice 27.01.2026

    Can you tell me about a time when you challenged yourself in Choice and Challenge? What did you do, and how did it make you feel? 

    Me and a friend completed a St Dwynwyn's day video where we re-told the story. During filming, we felt frustrated, but when it was completed, we felt great.

    Once I made a map of the roots of Pokemon. It was challenging because I had to include lots of details and it took a long time.

    I made Llanddwyn Church in construction, it was challenging because I had to connect all of the bricks so it wouldn't fall down. 

    I was making a book about the story of St Dwynwen, it was challenging because I had to include all the details.

     

    1. What do you like about being in Pod Pysgodyn?

    Always having fun activities to do. Doing lots of challenging work and playing with my friends. I like welcoming new children to our Pod. I like having the opportunity to play and draw. I like how nice the teachers are. I like that we have to do harder work. I like that we still get to play. Pod Pysgodyn is fun. I like being in Year 3 because the maths is a lot harder. 

    2. What do you find most challenging in Pod Pysgodyn?

    I find the Maths work most challenging. I find IQs most challenging. I find multiplication most challenging. I found the symmetry work most challenging when we had to draw a Christmas tree.  The tricky maths lessons that we have. I find writing quite difficult. I find literacy difficult because we have to do lots of writing. Reading. I find it really tricky trying to achieve my pen licence. 

    3. What help & support is there in Pod Pygodyn when you are stuck?

    SNOT helps us. The adults can help us. Resources like number squares. My friends and teachers help me most. All the resourcesthat are available to us. Asking adults for help. Ask a friend.  A DIN will often help us. 

    4. Tell me something you have learnt so far this year.

    I have learnt how to conduct science experiments. Learning where people are from ie. Countries and Cities. I learnt that 'Gywdwig soil' absorbs the most water. Number bonds up to 1000.  I have learn piano notes in music. I have learnt bossy verbs. 

    5. What have you learnt in Literacy so far?

    I have learnt to spell more trickier words. I learnt how to write a science investigation. To join my hand-wriritng up. I learnt to do a 'cold write' first before being taught skills. I have learnt to write and use persuasive language.  I have learnt to use adjectives. Bossy Verbs.

    1. What happens if you get stuck when you are doing your maths? 

    We can ask our teachers or friends. We also have maths resources in our classroom. I like the number beads.

    1. What sort of equipment helps you to fix your problems? 

    Number beads, 100 square and our word placemats.

    1. Do you use maths in other lessons and activities? 

    I use it in choice and challege and we always have a maths problem in our IQ!

    1. How do you know how well you are doing ? 

    My name goes on the Gallery of Awesomeness!

    We like doing maths without the different maths chillis.

    We have a good attitude towards Maths, we don't give up!

    We have enjoyed taking our time to do the different maths topics.

    We could make maths even more fun, make it more challenging, games in our maths book, more illustrations in Maths.

    We want more money maths.

    What do we do in Literacy?

    We work on a variety of texts such as story, poem, and instructions.

    What resources do we use?

    We like to use story mountains to help us plan.

    We use punctuation Pete.

    We use actions to remember words.

    How do we feel about Literacy?

    We try our best and never give up.

    We make good progress.

    We light up our work in Literacy.

    Numeracy in Pod Pysgodyn

    What do we do?

    We use our brains to help us.

    We use the concrete materials.

    We like to build up to our work.

    We play fun games like guess the number.

    What resources do we use?

    We use SNOT.

    We use placemats.

    We use our fingers to help us count.

    We like to use numicon to help us know the answer.

    How do we feel about Numeracy?

    We try our best and always have a go.

    We use a warm up and activate prior knowledge.

    We love Maths.
