Hurtling towards the end of term, we want to keep you in the loop with all the exciting updates and events happening at our school.  This is best achieved by using the "dates at a glance" section on this school blog. Due to the challenges we've faced with the website calendar, we've decided to reserve it for dates that are set in stone. This adjustment should help prevent any confusion when events need to be rescheduled.  You can also access this school blog via the school app on the "home page".

As we prepare for the upcoming Autumn term, we kindly remind you to secure your child's place in our Clwb Cierios (After School Childcare) and Early Bird Craft Club. Your prompt booking and payment are essential to ensure the continuation of these valuable provisions. Please make the payment before the end of term to guarantee participation, as we rely on full attendance to sustain these clubs effectively. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer financial assistance, and sustainability is dependent on your support. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.  Click here to book now.

This past week, we bid a fond farewell to our fantastic Year 6 pupils with our traditional "Leavers Assembly!" They are more than prepared for Year 7, and we have no doubt they'll embark on their new journey with enthusiasm and continue to be amazing.

A massive thank you to everyone who joined us at the Llanmorlais Carnival last Saturday. The sun graced us with its presence once again, and our choir and drummers showcased their talents magnificently. A special shout out to all the pupils who displayed incredible artwork – well done!

Today marks a non-school uniform day, coupled with bringing a raffle prize. We're eagerly anticipating our end-of-term raffle. Grab those last-minute tickets and may the odds be ever in your favour.

We're currently awaiting feedback from the local authority regarding our pupil kitchen plans. Rest assured that we're diligently following up with everyone involved to expedite the process.

As we countdown the final two weeks, our teachers are working tirelessly to finalise pupils' reports and wrap up end-of-term tasks. Both pupils and staff are feeling the effects of a busy term, but it's a fulfilling kind of exhaustion. This academic year has been truly memorable, with notable progress in sports, literacy, numeracy, and Welsh.   During the recent full governing body meeting, our governors were presented with evidence of this progress.  The school PESTs (Pupil Evaluation School Team) presented their very own evaluation of school targets and answered some very tricky questions.  Next year, our focus will include interventions for numeracy and reading, developing our curriculum based on our locality, enhancing our family engagement provision, improving teachers' skills in professional inquiry, and streamlining school systems to reduce administrative burden.

If you can contribute to shaping our curriculum around the unique aspects of our locality such as history, geography, or the environment, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Your expertise would be invaluable to us. We look forward to hearing from you.

What's the buzz from the pupils this week? "Cwestiwn yr Wythnos!" We ask pupils a weekly question in order to feed into our school improvement.  "What do you want to improve in our school next year?"

Pod Pengwin: "I would like an adventure course in the wild area.  It could have monkey bars, a wobbly bridge and a plank that we could play pirates on!"

Pod Pysgodyn: "I think we need electric go-carts and a race track.  We could do this in relax and refuel!"

Pod PryCop: "I think we should have more opportunities for Pod Pry Cop pupils to teach Pod Pengwin pupils sports in Clwb Hwyl!"

Mr G's Internet Safety Tip of the Week-  Have you ever considered how much time you spend looking at a screen—whether it's a smartphone, tablet, laptop, PC monitor, handheld game, or TV screen? Have you reflected on your overall behaviour regarding technology use? For instance, do you take your mobile phone to bed and scroll through social media posts before you close your eyes?  It's important to remember that children and young people are highly influenced by the behaviours of their parents and caregivers. Therefore, it's crucial for parents and carers to set a good example by demonstrating appropriate and balanced technology use.  Take a moment to think about the number and types of screens you use personally. Then, consider how many screens are in your household. You might be surprised by the total number. Please click here to read more
