Annwyl Parents and Carers,

What an incredible day we had for Sports Day! We’re still buzzing with pride and joy from all the excitement, and we wanted to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to our amazing parent community.

First and foremost, we’re so grateful that the weather held out—it was the perfect backdrop for a day full of energy, smiles, and unforgettable memories. The sun shone for us once again, making it a 20 year streak! Our pupils were nothing short of fantastic. From the moment they stepped onto the field for the dazzling opening ceremony, they dazzled with confidence, enthusiasm, and team spirit. We are immensely proud of each and every one of them for their effort, sportsmanship, and joy throughout the day.

A special shout-out goes to the wonderful parents who rolled up their sleeves and helped out behind the scenes. Whether you were stickering at the finish line or whipping up delicious lemonade and milkshakes, your support made the day run smoothly and added that extra sparkle. Finally, a huge diolch to Gower Dough for keeping us all fed! We couldn’t have done it without you all!

What's the buzz from the pupils this week? What was your favourite thing about Sports Day?

Pod Pengwin: I loved the obstacle course - people were falling over everywhere! 

Pod Pysgodyn: The obstacle race! I loved that you got to do different things that you don't normally do like building bricks and jumping! The pizza was delicious!

Pod Pry Cop: What I liked was that you didn't know who was going to win as there was different types of races - there was egg and spoon which you can practise technique for! 

 Mr G's Online Safety Tip: Encourage a healthy balance between online activities and other hobbies or responsibilities. 

Have you ever considered how much time you spend looking at a screen—whether it's a smartphone, tablet, laptop, PC monitor, handheld game, or TV screen? Have you reflected on your overall behaviour regarding technology use? For instance, do you take your mobile phone to bed and scroll through social media posts before you close your eyes?

It's important to remember that children and young people are highly influenced by the behaviours of their parents and caregivers. Therefore, it's crucial for parents and caregivers to set a good example by demonstrating appropriate and balanced technology use.
