Happy Friday! An exciting time of year for us at Llanrhidian as we celebrate all the progress made against our school development priorities. The pupils and staff have worked extremely hard towards our target of improving skills in mathematics and literacy and developed an exciting local area curriculum, great work #TeamLlanrhidian. Of course, we are gearing up for Sports Day which is coming up on June 25th.  As always, bring a picnic or purchase a pizza from Gower Dough and enjoy a relaxing afternoon.  Please be mindful that for safety reasons we ask that you supervise your own children when they are not in the races.  if you are not attending, please let us know. We look forward to seeing you there, starting with our wonderful 'welcoming ceremony'. 

Thank you to those who hace purchased summer raffle tickets, if you require more  tickets, please contact the school office. We are holding a non-school uniform, bring a raffle prize day on July 4th, and we will be holding our traditional end of term raffle on Monday 14th July, which always brings excitement to the pupils.  

We are very excited that year 6 will be kicking off our new restaurant initiative, 'Bwyty Mish Mash' on Wednesday June18th where pupils will have the opportunity to plan, prepare and serve a three course meal to their families - new dates for our other year groups will be shared soon.  Interesting, we had a visitor to the Caffi this week who attended the school 60 years ago.  He told us that the school had given him the life skills he needed to travel the world as a chef!  Interesting that 6 decades later, we are still valuing those same life long skills at Llanrhidian.

What's the buzz from the pupils this week? What is your favourite thing about sunshine?

Pod Pengwin: I can go in the pool! Also ice - cream, I like raspberry ripple! Yum yum! 

Pod Pysgodyn: I love feeling the sun on my skin, it's so warm!

Pod Pry Cop: I like the sunshine because there is more opportunity to mingle and play with everyone in the pod which is great. I love football but when it's raining it all goes a bit crazy!!

Mr G's Online Safety Tip: How to help your child with cyberbullying.  Did you know that 12% of young people in the UK are affected by cyberbullying? Cyberbullying, also known as online bullying, occurs when someone uses the internet to bully another person. According to the Cambridge dictionary, cyberbullying is defined as "someone who uses the internet to harm or frighten another person, especially by sending them unpleasant messages." It's important to be aware of the negative impact cyberbullying can have on individuals and take steps to prevent it. For more information please click here.
