Main Task:
Use your spelling band words to create a short story, poem or comic strip then tell your story to your partner.
1. Choose spelling words and weave them into a short story, poem, or comic strip.
2. Perform it aloud to a partner, focusing on correct pronunciation and spelling patterns.
3. Highlight your specific spelling words within your text.
WAGOLL Example (Short Story)
One rainy afternoon, I thought I had left my coat at school.
Mum said, “You’ve had enough of forgetting things!”
I quickly ran through the garden, hoping I might find it.
Then, I caught sight of something red behind the gate.
It was my coat! Although it was wet, I was glad I had found it.
Peer Assessment:
✅ All spelling words are used correctly in context.
✅ Sentences are varied (some short, some longer).
✅ The story has a beginning, middle, and end.
✅ Connectives (e.g., although) are used to link ideas.
✅ Punctuation is mostly accurate.
