Introduction by Richard Verge (Chair of Governors)
Thank you for visiting our school website. If you have any questions about our governing body, please contact me using the form below.
Our governing body has three core responsibilities for its school. These are:
- Setting a strategic direction and framework for achievement
- Holding the Head Teacher to account for the educational performance of the school
- Ensuring financial health, probity and value for money.
The school’s development plan (SDP) clearly demonstrates how this strategic direction will be turned into reality.
Strategic Overview - Our Mission and Vision for the school.
As a United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) School, our mission is to ensure that we all “Learn, Grow, Succeed Together!”
Our vision for the school is that this is seen as continuously “Inspiring our learners to be the best they can be!” so that they are fully prepared for the next stage of their education and life beyond the school and that they become:
- Ambitious, capable learners,
- Ethical, informed citizens,
- Enterprising, creative contributors and
- Healthy, confident individuals.
Through both the mission and vision statements run the implicit, twin themes of continuous improvement and development. These underpin the key strategic objectives for the next 3 years included in the SDP.
To ensure that there is fully effective discharge of governance, leadership and other responsibilities, we ensure that objectives for the continuous development of the Governing Body itself are an integral part of the SDP.
