What an amazing week it has been at Llanrhidian! Our pupils from the Pili Palas, Pengwins, and Pysgodyns shone brightly in their performance of The Bethlehem Bakeoff. The excitement and energy they displayed were truly captivating. More importantly, they have been developing vital life skills that will stay with them long after they leave our school—confidence, communication, organisation, and problem-solving. Often referred to as "soft skills", these attributes are precisely what employers are seeking in the modern workforce. That’s why our curriculum places a strong emphasis on "integral skills", ensuring we prepare our pupils for the best possible future.

Our Llanrhidian World of Work programme has proven to be central to our pupils' holistic development, and this term has been remarkable in demonstrating the positive outcomes. In particular, our Caffi Cynefin has been a fantastic venue for fostering these skills. From taking the fridge temperature to serving customers and ensuring a clean, safe environment, our pupils have truly excelled.

Looking ahead, we are buzzing with anticipation for the older pupils' performance of The Llion King next week. Prepare to be amazed by the professionalism and commitment these talented individuals will showcase, a testament to years of expressive arts development at our school. It’s fabulous to announce we are completely sold out for all three shows—thank you for your support!

While there's a lurking cold going around, both staff and pupils are powering through the germs. With just two weeks until Christmas, we still have so much learning and fun ahead. Please send your child in if they are well enough; every day is a valuable learning day in Llanrhidian!

Mr Gs Online Safety Tip: Watch your screen time!

Screen time is the amount of time we spend on devices with screens, such as phones, tablets, or laptops. Many of us spend a considerable amount of time on devices with screens like phones, laptops, and tablets. However, there are concerns that children might spend too much time on these devices, which can negatively impact their health and wellbeing. To learn more about this topic, please read the following article by clicking here.

What's the buzz from the pupils this week? Cwestiwn yr Wythnos!  What is the best thing about being in school at Christmas time? What about your teachers - how are they?

Pod Pengwin: I like wrapping presents in the Christmas workshop.  I like playing with my friends in the home corner.  Mrs Marchant and Miss Walters have had a bad cold and are really sleepy but they still play games like noughts and crosses with us.

Pod Pysgodyn: Probably doing Christmas concerts and Christmas crafts and IQs. I think Mrs Parry loves the Christmas crafts - she is always gluing herself to the stool.  Mr G and Mr DeK are getting very tired and a little bit grumpy! But they are still very funny and nice and play great games with us like apple pie.

Pod Pry Cop:  We get to spend time with our friends and maybe bring  in presents.  We love the show because we know the film "The Lion King" and its lots of fun getting ready for it.  The teachers want us to shine but maybe they are getting a bit tired because organising us is really hard!
