Llanrhidian Target 96%

We have been so close to reaching the Swansea attendance target this year. Let's rally together and strive to hit it in 2025!

This is the last blog of the year, and I can't believe how quickly it has gone! It's been an extremely successful year in terms of community events, and we've also made very good progress against our school targets.

Parents, please be reminded that you will receive your child's report today. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email the office, and a member of staff will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible. Our teachers have dedicated hours to writing and checking reports, and sending each one out individually is indeed very time-consuming. As the head, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to them for their hard work and commitment to the school. They truly go above and beyond their duties to ensure the success of our pupils.

Looking ahead, we are excited about our whole school topic for next year. We will be launching our new "secret" topic on the first day back, which is September 4th for our pupils. We have planned lots of exciting activities for the first few weeks to help our pupils settle back into the school day.

To the families who will be leaving us after many years, we bid you farewell. We wish you all the best, and we have no doubt that your children will continue to shine in their new schools.

We will also be bidding farewell to three wonderful members of our school community - Mrs Whitehead, Mrs Froom, and Mrs Howells. They have been instrumental in supporting the school over the years, and their dedication has made a lasting impact on both the pupils and staff.  We wish them all the best in their future endeavours and express our heartfelt gratitude for everything they have done for our school.

Finally, a huge thank you from all the staff for supporting us in supporting your children. We believe in the proverb "it takes a village to raise a child," and our work on "Cynefin" focuses on ensuring that our pupils feel they belong to our wonderful Llanrhidian community. Have a fantastic summer, and we eagerly anticipate seeing you all in September.

What's the buzz from the pupils this week? "Cwestiwn yr Wythnos!" We ask pupils a weekly question in order to feed into our school improvement.  "What are you looking forward to most for your Summer holiday?"

Pod Pengwin: "I am excited about playing in the park!  I can stand up in my paddling pool and touch the bottom. I like riding on my bike.  I can do backflips on my bike with daddy."

Pod Pysgodyn: "Spending time with my family and having a new baby brother or sister.  I am going to be a good sister and take care of the baby if mum is tired!"

Pod PryCop: "Playing outside with my friends, because dad said I can do that every day!"

Mr G's Internet Safety Tip of the Week-  How safe is TikTok?
Using any social network can be risky, but it's possible for children to safely use the app with adult supervision (and a private account). TikTok also offers some tools for parents and caregivers to further limit how much time kids spend on the app and what they can see. Parents and carers can also use Restricted Mode to reduce mature content, or Family Safety Mode to pair their account with their kid's account and control settings completely.
