School Blog Friday 16th October

Here are this week's headlines:-

1. Please see a statement from the Local Authority regarding pick up from school.

"It is important for us all to keep following the social distancing rules both in and out of school.

Parents dropping off or collecting children from school should maintain social distancing and although it is tempting to stop for a catch-up or chat, they should leave the vicinity of the school straight away.

Pupils should only be driven to and from school by their parents or a member of their immediate household (people who they live with), unless it is by a relative or friend who is providing childcare where there isno other option."

2. Podlet Monster Ball:  This year we will be celebrating with a "Freaky Friday" (23rd October) within the school day.  If you are able to help please let us know as we will need some parents to help run the outdoor "Spooky Trail".  In summary.....

  • Bring £2 to support the event
  • Dress up in favourite spooky outfit (No accessories please!)
  • Every pupil will visit the "Spooky Trail" (with a prize)
  • Class fun activities
  • Pupils will all make a spooky healthy treat

3. Harvesting the Earth's Riches - Monday 9th November 2020

To celebrate harvest this year the children will be participating in a fun day of harvest activities. These activities will give the children a range of knowledge of things we find around us and problems facing the wider world. We are supporting Matthew's House with our food bank this year, so we kindly ask that you donate a small tin, packet, or jar of non-perishable food. If anyone could also donate 20 cm plant pots and/or compost, (at least 72 hours before the day for quarantine) this would be greatly appreciated.

4. Parent/Teacher Meetings

A reminder that we are offering parents the option of having a parent consultation phone call after October Half Term. Teachers will phone parents between 3.40pm and 5pm during the period from Monday 2nd November to Thursday 5th November. Please contact Jayne if you would like an appointment
