Annwyl Parents and Carers,

What a brilliant week of learning we have experienced at school! Our topic of “Fayre, Fair, Fare” has truly inspired some super experiences, providing our pupils with exciting opportunities to explore and engage with their learning. In the coming days, you will receive an overview of the pod learning planned for the term ahead, which has been thoughtfully constructed with the insights and feedback gathered from our pupils following our launch day as well as aligning the knowledge skills and experiences your child needs to make further progress.  Your children’s voices really are central to our planning, and we are committed to ensuring their learning journey is both enjoyable and effective.

As we strive to make the most out of every minute in the school day, we would greatly appreciate your help in avoiding appointments during school hours. Interruptions during this time can have a real impact on your child’s learning and progress. At the moment, our attendance is a below the desired 95%. Research shows that pupils who regularly attend school often perform better and achieve more. Let’s work together to ensure our children receive the best education possible! If you need support or guidance, please do not hesitate to reach out. Mrs Gosney, our wonderful Family Engagement Officer, is here to assist you.

Just a gentle reminder: we have an Estyn inspection coming up next week, from Monday to Wednesday. On Monday, there will be a parent meeting with the inspectors at 15:40 in the school hall. If you’d like to attend, please let us know so we can make arrangements for your child to stay in the pod during this time. After the meeting, you can pick up your child from the usual places. We would be very grateful for your prompt collection, as our staff will also be attending a meeting afterwards.

Don’t forget to check out the exciting events lined up for this term—there’s so much to look forward to! In particular, the Young Farmers Breakfast Market, this Sunday, promises to be a delightful occasion, so do join us for an uplifting morning to brighten up your January.

Mr Gs Online Safety Tip: How safe is TikTok?  Using any social network can be risky, but it's possible for children to safely use the app with adult supervision (and a private account). TikTok also offers some tools for parents and caregivers to further limit how much time kids spend on the app and what they can see. Parents and caregivers can also use Restricted Mode to reduce mature content, or Family Safety Mode to pair their account with their kid's account and control settings completely. What's the buzz from the pupils this week?  "If you were an inspector, what would you say about your school?" 

Pod Pengwin: "Harty, sparkle rainbow!" and "This is the goodest school I have ever seen!"

Pod Pysgodyn: "It is really brilliant because everyone has a thing to do and that's really fair!" and "I think the children all work the best they can!"

Pod Pry Cop:  "I would say this is an amazing school.  Quite frankly the teachers listen to the pupils and make learning fun!" and "I would say it is a really good school because I think everyone tries to do their best like January's right!"
