School Blog Friday 27th January 2022

Dear Parents,

Thank you for helping us with our attendance it has slightly improved to 91.3%.  Although we have a long way to reach the Swansea target of 95%, at least we are heading in the right direction.

This week all pupils have been learning about St Dwynwen and understanding the importance of love and kindness.  Our Caffi has been a great hit again and we are ramping up our pupil expectations to include "think for yourself!" This week's team were awesome and coped with one of the busiest days so far!  Keep spreading the word and bring someone along next week.

Due to the industrial action of NEU members, the school will be closed to all pupils between Reception and Year 6 on Wednesday February 1st.  The school will remain open to non-striking staff on this day.

To support our parents and carers to navigate through the dangers of online activity, we are going to try and include weekly tips and advice in the school blog.   This week we will focus on  "keeping safe on internet devices". Here is some useful information that will you show you the risks of internet connected devices.  PLEASE CLICK THIS LINK

Here are the other headlines this week:-

I Wonder Week - Next week, we will be having guest speakers from a range of religious and non-religious backgrounds, sharing their beliefs with our pupils. This will give opportunities for questions which will develop knowledge and tolerance for the diversity within the world we live.

Parent Evening - You should have now received an invite for parents' evening.  Please contact the office if you have had any trouble with this.

Marchnad Dydd Gwyl Dewi March 1st - We are planning for a St David's day market on the afternoon of March 1st.  Please can pupils arrive in school dressed in Welsh costumes or red tops ready for our celebration morning assembly.  In the afternoon, from 2pm, we will hold a market in the marquee.  If you are able to attend, you are welcome to collect your child to visit the stalls.  If not you can send your child in with some money to spend.    Each pod will be having their own stall and will be letting you know how you can help.  Please spread the word if you know of any stall holders who would like to set up and sell their wares.  Please click here for more information.

Have a fabulous weekend

Mrs Caswell
