Annwyl Parents and Carers,
We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome you back to the sunshine-filled summer term! With warm rays beaming down upon us, let's hope these delightful days stick around a little longer. This term, we're excited to unveil our captivating new topic: 'Captennau Gwyr'! The children are buzzing with energy as they dive into a week of engaging launch activities that will guide the direction of our ‘EPIC’ (Everybody Planning In Class). This ensures every voice is heard, empowering our pupils to shape their learning. We're thrilled to introduce our very own version of the 'Duke of Edinburgh' award, where the children will participate in a wide array of fun and challenging activities to develop their life skills.
With the warmer weather, please ensure pupils come to school ready for the outdoors with extra water, sun cream and a sunhat.
We are very grateful to Mrs Mabbett, who is stepping in to Pod Prycop until May 19th when Mrs Chafey returns from maternity leave. Other exciting news includes Mr Goremano, who has successfully applied for a year-long secondment at another Swansea school as part of his professional development. I am sure you will join me in congratulating him. In light of this, we are thrilled to welcome a secondee to replace him. Mr Haywood will be joining us from September, bringing a range of unique skills to our school. It’s wonderful to see teachers eager to progress and engage with different educational environments. (Although it will be very quiet without Mr G next year). We are also in the process of recruiting a senior teacher to start in September. What an exciting time for us all in Llanrhidian!
Its going to be a busy term, so please keep up to date by checking the key dates on this blog.

What's the buzz from the pupils this week? 'What was your 'glimmer' over the Easter holiday?
Pod Pengwin: I enjoyed getting two biscuits and eggs. I had to find 6 big ones! It was great fun.
Pod Pysgodyn: I went to Cornwall with my family. The journey was four hours but we stopped to get food and when we got there, there was a park right next to where we were staying – it was amazing!
Pod Pry Cop: Over the holidays, I got a pet bearded dragon. He is called Red, he likes to eat locusts, which is a type of cricket. He also likes to eat mealworms. He loves to bathe under a heat lamp and then he’s full of beans!
Mr G's Online Safety Tip: Talk with your child about screentime
Screen time is the amount of time we spend on devices with screens, such as phones, tablets, or laptops. Many of us spend a considerable amount of time on devices with screens like phones, laptops, and tablets. However, there are concerns that children might spend too much time on these devices, which can negatively impact their health and wellbeing.
