I.Q

I wonder, what can we learn from Joseph

Beth wyt ti’n meddwl?

L.O: To understand how artists communicate mood and emotions in their work.

What do you already know about Joseph?

How do you think the themes 'jealousy, love and family' present in the show?

1. How does the song ‘Joseph’s coat’ show the emotions and relationships of different characters?

Watch the video and read the lyrics. Use the sentence starters below to help you answer the following questions.

What does the song tell you about...

how the other brothers felt about Joseph?

Joseph's personality at this point in the show. Think about how he reacted to the coat!

WAGOLL - How the Ruben (the oldest brother) reacted to Joseph been given the coat!

Angry and jealous after seeing Joseph's new coat, Ruben demanded a meeting with his brothers. His heart rate was quicker than it had ever been before and sweat fell from his brow. Ruben's face got redder and redder as Joseph bragged about his new robe. Joseph's spoilt and smug face was really starting to irritate him, the brothers needed to hatch a plan. Enough was enough! Whispering, he revealed his cunning and evil intentions to his eager siblings. If we could get him away from father, if they believed Joseph was dead, then we would become the favourites.

4. Can we make a profit from the Christmas shows?

Below is a screen shot from Mrs Caswell's blog last year. Tickets are also sold for £2 per ticket.

For one person to come to the show and have one of everything... how much would it cost them?

If we sold 100 tickets for the first show and everyone had one of everything, how much money would we take?

If we sold 100 tickets across all four shows and each person had one of everything. How much money would we take?

If we sold 100 tickets across all four shows and each person had everything plus a programme at £1 between every 2 people. How much would we make?

Mrs Archard says that the answer you have calculated is the profit. Decide if she is correct or not. Explain why.
