Dear Parents and Carers,
We really are in the throws of Christmas now, and the pupils are busy learning lines, songs and dancing. It really is a joy to see them working so hard for something that will bring joy to others. Our whole school trip was a huge success, and the pupils were all beautifully behaved, a real credit to us all.
Our School Savings Club has launched, and we have welcomed some super savers. This club is led by a group of Llanrhidian pupils and they are busy encouraging others to save and to understand the benefits of saving. Please encourage your child to save each week, even if it is a few pence. To join the savers please click here. Caffi Cynefin - Our Caffi is proving to be a great success. The big question is, "can we keep it going?" We are certainly going to try because it is an amazing opportunity for our pupils to learn about the world of work, as well as give back to the community which supports them. Unfortunately we are unable to have our cakes from Oldwalls anymore as they are getting so busy. We are very grateful for the cakes we have had to date, but are now looking for another sponsor. Can you help? We really need a regular supply that we can rely on each week. A huge thank you to those that donate, this is making a huge difference. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Community Council Event - The Community Council are decorating the Christmas tree in the village (on Church green) at 9am on Saturday morning. Any local parents and children are welcome to come along and help.
Raffle Tickets - This year you are able to purchase Christmas Raffle Tickets by two means. Firstly we will be sending home tickets which you can return with cash or a cheque. Secondly, you are able to purchase tickets via sQuid. The tickets will cost £1 each and if you pay by sQuid, we will complete the tickets for you, and send you confirmation. Every ticket sold raises vital money for pupil resources and every pupil benefits from your generosity. The raffle draw is Monday 19th December.
Raffle Prizes - Please help us with prizes. We will again creating the famous "Mrs Blackmore's Hampers" as prizes. Please send in a Christmassy item for your pod's hamper. This could be wine, chocolates, small gift, toiletries etc. Please send these in as soon as possible, but before Monday 12th December. We also need stand alone prizes, so if you know any business who would offer a voucher or prize, please let us know. We will always tweet a thank you, and are happy to add a twitter tag if the business has one.
Marchnad Nadolig December 13th. Market Stalls and Santa's Grotto 2.30 - 4.30 - With the cost of living rise, we would like to offer a free Santa's grotto to all our primary school pupils and their younger siblings. A big thank you to Oldwalls Gower who is sponsoring the gifts at the grotto. To make this a great event, we need volunteers who are willing to run a parent refreshment stall and contributions of seasonal cakes, snacks etc.
There will be external stall holders in the marquee as part of the Marchnad" so this could be a great community event! Please spread the word!
