Governing Body Meetings
The Governing Body meets regularly to ensure the strategic direction of the school is in line with its targets. To ensure this, a comprehensive timetable of meetings is adhered to.
A governing body has three core responsibilities for its school. These are:
- Setting a strategic direction and framework for pupil progress
- Holding the Head Teacher to account for the educational performance of the school
- Ensuring financial health, probity and value for money
Strategic Overview - Our Mission and Vision for the school.
As a United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) School, our mission is to ensure that we all “Learn, Grow, Succeed Together!”
Our vision for the school is that this is seen as continuously “Inspiring our children to be the best they can be!” so that they are fully prepared for the next stage of their education and life beyond the school and that they become:
- Ambitious, capable learners,
- Ethical, informed citizens,
- Enterprising, creative contributors and
- Healthy, confident individuals.
Through both the mission and vision statements run the implicit, twin themes of continuous improvement and development.
To ensure that there is fully effective discharge of governance, leadership and other responsibilities, we ensure that objectives for the continuous development of the Governing Body itself are an integral part of the SDP.
The full governing body meets at least once per term. The Governing Body of Llanrhidian Primary rely heavily upon three termly sub-committees:-
