    Dear Parents,

It is the end of another strange term. But I at least we have finished with a full compliment of podlets right across the school.  All staff have focused on giving the pupils time to acclimatise to the world of school again, and it has been a delight to watch the friendships and relationships thrive.

We are looking forward to the Summer Term, and have planned a lovely launch day for the first day back.  Our new topic has been very much designed with wellbeing at its heart.  We have also planned to ensure that pupils will be given the support they need to progress their knowledge and skills at a pace that suits them.    A few other headlines this week:-

    1. Fun Fridays -   As staff are returning to work we are, as promised, able to re-open on a Friday afternoon.    To support your child's learning and wellbeing, nearly all staff will take their PPA on a Friday.  All Pods will be covered by consistent staff, wherever possible, and all contact groups will continue to be around 30.   This afternoon will focus on ending the week on a real high!  We are arranging sports coaches, arts, music, outdoor activities and drama.  Please look out for information from your pod staff in terms of necessary equipment.

    2.  Attendance after Easter  - The following information has been provided to all schools.  "When all pupils are back in school, in accordance with WG guidelines, normal school attendance policies should be applied."  This means that  all pupils will be expected to return to school for the Summer Term, unless specific health problems prevents this.

    3.  Stranger Danger -  We need your help to reinforce this very important message to the children.  As we head into the Summer Term we always remind children not to engage with walkers as the pass the school.  However, our lovely children are so sociable, that this is a lesson that we have to regularly re-visit.  Please could parents help us by not calling your children over to the fence during the school day.  This sends mixed messages, and although we appreciate that you are family, and not strangers, we just want to try and keep children away from the fence line.  We advise a lovely big wave instead!  :)

    4. Breakfast Club (Limited Spaces)  - As staffing levels improve, we are also able to resume breakfast club.  This will now be based in the school hall, so please consider this when you are dropping your child(ren) off.  You can either park on the main road and bring your child to the hall fire exit, or older children can be dropped off in the zone and they can run up to the hall through the junior yard. Due to Covid19 the school must insist on pre-bookings by emailing the office.  Please note that if the school has reached it's capacity we may not be able to reserve you a space.

Early Bird Craft Club from 8am to 8.25am. Cost £20 per half term. (Siblings £10) Must be paid in advance. For more information please visit the school website here.   A contract will be required, please contact the office to book your place early.

Breakfast Club from 8.25 to 8.55.  Cost FREE. For more information please visit the school website here.

Have a fabulous Easter Holiday!  See you in the Sumer Term.

    Dear Parents/Carers,

We have had a fabulous week with the whole school back.  Check out Twitter to see what the pupils have been up to.  The headlines this week are:-

    1. Easter Funday & Last Day of Term - Our last day of term will involve a lot of fun.  Teachers will be informing you of the pod plans including the easter bonnet parade and an egg hunt. It is with such sadness that we are all missing our second traditional "Eggstravaganza", but we will make sure the pupils will enjoy their day.  Please remember that school will finish at 1pm. (Please collect from 12-45 until 1.15).

    2. Summer Term - All Change Again!!!  As staff are returning to work we are, as promised, able to re-open on a Friday afternoon.  This is great news, and we thank you all for your co-operation while we were struggling with staffing levels.  Your  understanding during these times has been absolutely invaluable to us all.  To support your child's learning and wellbeing, nearly all staff will take their PPA on a Friday.  All Pods will be covered by consistent staff wherever possible and all contact groups will continue to be around 30.

    4. INSET Days - The school has a number of INSET days yet to take, however we feel that we want to see your children as much as we can before the Summer break.  For this reason staff and governors have decided that we will take just two INSET days at the end of term to prepare for the New Curriculum. This means the last day of the Summer Term will be Wednesday 14th July.

    Have a Lovely Weekend

    Dear Parents/Carers,

We are really looking forward to having the whole school back in on Monday.  Let's hope we can keep them in school for the rest of the year by keeping the community transmission low.  Here are some reminders and information for the weeks ahead.

Letter to Parents - A letter to parents explaining all the routines from March 15th can be accessed here.  Please ensure all members of your family, or anyone who is involved in collecting your child reads this.  eg older siblings, grandparents etc.

One Way System Pickup from 3.20 to 3.40 - Thank you to those who are using the one way system to reduce gatherings at the gates. As more pupils return, it is more important than ever that this is used.  There is often a bottle neck of  parents around the "drop off gate" at the end of the day.  We urge these parents to use the one way system to avoid this.  (Please let us know if you are physically unable to do this, and we will do our best to support).   Year 3 pupils will have a new end of day routine.   We will monitor this and communicate with these parents as necessary.   PryCop parents will continue to enter the yard via the drop off, or wait at the top of the yard.  (Some Y2 parents also do this which is fine).  If you need a reminder of the one way system please look at the end of the return to school letter (Appendix 1) or ask your class teacher.

Pick Up Timings - Just a reminder that gates will be opened before or by 3.20.  Please use the window between 3.20 and 3.40 to avoid over crowding at the gates.  Reception to Year 2 finish school at 3.20  and Year 3 to Year 6 finish at 3.25.  It is important for teachers to make the most of every minute within the school day.

Drop off Zone - The drop off zone works brilliantly in the morning and saves parking and traffic issues.  This is particularly useful for Y2 - Y6 pupils.    Please do not park here so we can keep this zone clear.  Please also note that we can not run a pick up service, and parents need to "park up" and collect their pupils from their classroom exits.

Friday Early Closure - Until we can safely staff our "podlet bubbles" to enable planning time for teachers, we are closing the school to nearly all pupils at 1pm on Fridays.  We will keep you updated as to when we will return to our usual end of day routine.  For more information please see the return to school letter.

School Reports - Teachers will not be issuing school reports this term.  However, as always, if you do need to discuss your child's learning, please contact the school so we can arrange a phone call.  We will be issuing a report in the Summer Term, and holding parent consultations.

    Have a lovely weekend

  • School Blog Friday 5th March

    Fri 05 Mar 2021 D Caswell

    Dear Parents/Carers,

This week's blog will focus on the return to face to face learning for all pupils from March 15th.  We really cannot wait, and we are looking forward to seeing the pupils all back again.

There is a lot of information on the letter sent out to you all today, so please read carefully, and share with any family members who are involved in dropping off, or collecting your child.  You can access this here

Please remember that we will be closing at 1pm on Friday until further notice - starting on March 19th.  (This does not include Lower Nursery)

It is so important  that we all do our bit to keep community transmission rates down.  So we are asking again for all parents to not to congregate around school gates.  Please do not arrive before your allocated pick up time, and use the window that we offer to reduce any crowds.

In addition, please do not mix with families or have play dates out of school.  We all want to keep our children in school full time, and we CAN make this happen.

As always, if you have any questions, please contact the office.

    Have a super weekend.

    Mrs Caswell
