    Dear Parents,

What an amazing end to a fantastic term.  Thank you all for your help and support! It really feels like we are back on track in terms of our traditional community events.  This week our Pod Prycop showed off their talents in "Oliver with a Twist!" A huge well done to the pupils and the staff who worked so hard to produce an excellent performance.

After a well deserved break, school will be back open on January 9th where we will be launching our new whole school topic. Please wrap up warm as we will be spending time outdoors.

Please remember that school starts at 8.50 and the register is taken at 8.55.  To make it easier for parents we allow you to drop off from 8.40.  The local authority has informed us that they will be doing register and punctuality checks in the new year, so come on, let's show them what a great school we are!  Attendance is at an all time low for Llanrhidian, but I am confident, that with your commitment, we can improve this over the next two terms.

We will be sending out "amser tost" payment arrangement this week ready for the Spring term.  The pupils love this, and it really does have a positive impact on their learning and thei well-being.    Here are the headlines this week:-

Well-Being Workshops for Parents - Jan 25th (When to worry about your worrier - REPEAT)  and March 15th (Emotional Regulation) @ 3.30 in School Hall  - Amy Glass the in-reach CAHMS worker will be hosting a parent workshop on these dates. Your child can attend sports club.   Please let the office know if you want to book a place.  But don't worry we will remind you after Christmas.

Breakfast Club - Breakfast club will continue in the canteen in January.  Please remember that staff are not ready until 8am. If you use drop off, then please watch your child go in as we do not have staff to be on outside duty at this time.   Please pay your fees via sQuid as we will be sending a link to your account.

Finally, on behalf of all the staff at Llanrhidian Primary, have a fantastic holiday!  Nadolig Llawen a Blwyddyn Newydd Dda!

    Dear Parents and Carers,

What a week!  Four nativities and a Christmas Fayre!   Our younger pupils were outstanding, and have certainly raised the bar when it comes to future performances.  Thank you so much for all your support, we have had great fun and really appreciate all the emails of thanks we have received.  We honestly read every one and share with all the staff.

We have a busy final week of the Autumn Term with our "Oliver with a Twist" show.  I have watched the pupils grow in confidence over the last few weeks, and I know they are going to be amazing over their four shows.  We do have some tickets left, so please contact the office if you or a relative would like to attend.  And thank you for committing to the extra rehearsals and bringing the pupils to all the shows.  These are memories that will last forever, and seeing your child grow in confidence is the best reward for the teachers who all work so hard to enable every child to shine.  Here are the headlines this week:-

Caffi Cynefin - It is our last Caffi at the Village Hall on Thursday, please come and join us as we have a visitor from the local authority coming to see our pupils at work.  Please spread the word that we are moving this wonderful experience to the school hall from January.  We have also changed the times to suit more parents, and can offer free wifi.  Click here for more information.

Parking on zig zags - The police have received reports of parents and guardians parking on the yellow zig zags outside our school.  Please remember these mark a safe "no car" zone for pupils and their siblings, so please let's work together on this.

Report to Parents - You will receive you child's written report on Monday via email.  If you require a printed copy, please let the school office know.  Please take notice of your child's attendance,  as this has a direct effect on your child's progress as well as on the development of their social and communication skills.   Please also note their reading age and the targets set by the pod staff.   We will be setting a date for face to face parent meetings in the Spring Term.

Breakfast Club - We are going to keep breakfast club in the old canteen from January.  Thank you to Mr G for sharing his learning space!

Have a fabulous weekend, and thank you again for a wonderful week in Llanrhidian.

    Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for attending our Carol Service and a huge thank you to Mr Goremano and Miss Weatherly who have led and developed the school choir this term.  They have done an amazing job, and we are so grateful that they have stepped up to take on this additional role.

We have a very busy two weeks ahead of us, and I have to say a huge thank you to all the staff who are working so hard to make this Christmas special for everyone.  The shows are fantastic, and I am sure you will really enjoy.  Some parents have reserved tickets, but have not sent in the money, please do this asap.

Exciting News! Caffi Cynefin is going to change it's venue. From January 12th 2023, it will be held in the school hall from 9 am until 11.45 (Last orders 11.30).  We will see many benefits from this change including free wifi, warmth, no rent and we can rotate more pupils into the roles.  We can also expand our menu to include toast, teackes and crumpets.  In addition it will be more child friendly for toddlers and their mums.  As always we will be looking for volunteers to bring some elderly folk,  help with running the caffi and donations of cakes etc.    Can you help us source the following items?  We need:-

    • 1. Teacups and saucers, small plates, tea pots (various sizes) sugar bowls and milk jugs
    • 2. Tea spoons, forks, butter knives
    • 4. Cushions
    • 5. Cake stands

If you are able to help with any of the above items, please send into school.  They don't have to match - Caffi Cynefin is about bringing people together for a cuppa and a chat, we are not trying to compete with Costa :)!
